POSITION SUMMARY DRT America is currently seeking Chemical Plant Operators for our new facility located in Rincon, Georgia.
The Chemical Plant Operator will:
Work 12 hour rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and overtime.
Climb, bend, lift and perform a wide range of physical activities; including working at various heights, entering into confined spaces, and work in various weather conditions.
Follow all plant safety guidelines and policies, which includes the wearing of fire retardant clothing and respirators (note:
must be clean shaven at all times on the job and be able to pass PFT test).
This position will be responsible for:
Operating pumps, compressors, boilers, reactors, distillation columns and other plant equipment within safe operating ranges.
Making changes to the operating process as needed to maintain product quality.
Adjusting control instruments, valves or switches in order to regulate pressure, temperature or flow rate of product; to direct flow of product to other units or to maintain specified levels in tanks and towers.
Operating control room instrumentation systems and coordinating activities with other departments.
Operating equipment while overseeing multiple processes during the distilling or treating operations.
Monitoring the performance of plant equipment and process conditions.
Reading flow meters, temperature and pressure gauges as well as taking routine readings on process variables is required.
Repairing, lubricating, and maintaining equipment or writing work orders in the computerized maintenance system (CMMS) for repairs.
Performing general maintenance, repair, and cleanup of plant equipment for safe and efficient operations.
Drawing samples of products from the process and performing preliminary laboratory testing.
Assisting in other areas of plant operation as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent 3
years' work experience in a manufacturing environment (previous chemical plant experience is preferred) Chemical industry experience or distillation experience Experience with Microsoft Office applications:
Word, Excel and Outlook Strong mechanical aptitude/knowledge Solid communication and interpersonal skills with experience working in a small team based environment DRT America is an equal opportunity employer and encourages diversity.
