Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Materials Manager who is willing to travel to provide coverage and assistance at our three US-based plant locations as needed.
This position will step in to provide management at the location for periods of vacation or other leave; will also provide support to local management during high volume times and/or for critical project needs.
The position will travel from the home location at least 50% of the time; both domestic and international travel to Mexico may be required.
Responsibilities Provides complete operational oversight and management for the Materials Departments at US plant locations when the local Materials Manager has vacation or extended absence.
Plants are in Roanoke, VA; Pocatello, ID; and Rincon, GA.
Supports local Materials Managers at all US plants with special projects.
Supports the Materials Audit Team during Material Process Audits at all US plants.
Accompanies Supply Chain peers to Chihuahua, Mexico plants for audits, visits, and other company business, as needed.
Maintains and ensures accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
Works with purchasing department to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
Oversees shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods.
Identifies opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges.
Manages and monitors storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
Performs write-offs on damaged or obsolete inventory to reflect accurate value of inventory.
Establishes procedures for conducting and valuing year-end physical inventory.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.
Proficient with inventory reporting systems.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Able to travel up to 50%.
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field required.
Five years of experience in materials control field required.
